Set of leather bound books from 1778, offering an incomplete set of 7 volumes in French, Plutarch Aux Vies des Hommes Illustres aka Plutarch's Lives which is a famous book about the Greeks and Romans, published in Paris. Volumes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12. The condition is good but not great, no water damage, binding good, the spine and covers are falling apart with little flakes and chips coming off when handled, but no loose or missing pages, no writing inside except each one has the name Ogden carefully signed in ink on the title and copyright pages. On the plus side much of the gold gilt is still present, with calf leather marbled, and a wonderful old book smell, would look great on a shelf and are readable if you know French! Probably a solid G grade however we are not experts on book grading so please ask questions if you need.
