Beautiful reproduction painting from the Byzantine era, Adoration of the Magi by Michael Damskinos. Done in gold leaf on wood, in excellent like-new condition. This was made within the last decade and probably sold at a European art museum gift shop (see price sticker on reverse). This is not a cheap reproduction but rather a very high quality reproduction! Not sure how much is hand painted and how much is printed, you really can't easily tell, but the gold leaf and border work looks handmade, and on a nice solid piece of wood. The iconic composition and detail is fabulous!
