Vintage confectioners cookbook from 1904 1st edition entitled "365 Cakes and Cookies - A Cake or Cooky for every day in the year" compiled by Marion Harland and others, published in Philadelphia by George W Jacobs & Co. Wow a rare deserts cook book in nice condition with light honest wear and beautifully presented. Hardcover book with pasted-down illustrated cover, has some cooking finger stain/soiling marks here and there but nothing too damaging, paper label on spine is peeling off one side only slightly. Cloth binding is an interesting type with a hardboard strip inside spine, all seems good and tight for its age. No writing anywhere except opposite title page light pencil formally written "We want good eats." for Jill or Jim or similar - sounds more like a servant command than a gift inscription. Pages nicely laid out with many orange colored illustrations. A few other cookbooks were released in this "365" turn-of-the-century series. Not ex-library, nice collector copy.
