Gilfillan Antique AM Radio Model 56B

Beautiful Gilfillan Brothers AM radio from the late 1940s, this is model 56B which has a metal front plate instead of the typical cloth grille that was common during this era. Radio works great and is in excellent cosmetic condition too. Radio appears to have had little restoration, a very original piece. The light behind the dial cover works, and the radio reception is fabulous. Wood is in nice condition, just normal edge and surface wear to it. The metal front plate is enameled a copper color, which has a few small chips of missing paint that isn't too noticeable. Original dial cover and knobs. If you haven't heard a California made Gilfillan tube radio then you haven't heard radio - the sound is so loud, clear and warm. This one is ready to go, no additional antenna or restoration required, just plug it in and wait 30 seconds for the tubes to warm up and then surf those weird AM airwaves...
